Wellington

I arrived in Wellington on Friday night and stayed the the Paekakariki Backpackers just a short train ride North of the city.
On Saturday I went into the city and watched the Vodafone Homegrown concert on the Wellington waterfront all day. The concert had bands from all over the country and some 15,000 people showed up to watch them.

The Full Vodafone Homegrown Line-up of local Bands:

ROCK STAGE - Shihad, Kora, Pluto, The Feelers, OpShop, Elemeno-P, Goodnight Nurse, Autozamm, The Valves

DUB and ROOTS STAGE - Salmonella Dub, The Black Seeds, Tiki, Cornerstone Roots, Ladi6, Little Bushman, Mike Fabulous

ELECTRONIC STAGE - Concord Dawn, Minuit, Sunshine Soundsystem, Recloose and Tyna, Dick Johnson, Takas, Tim Phin

INDIE STAGE - The Mint Chicks, The Phoenix Foundation, The Checks, Motocade, So So Modern, The Rabble, The Coshercot Honeys

I spent Sunday on a tour of the Wellington area and took a few pictures of the city, the surrounding bay and at the Botanical Gardens.

Wellington is a great city with loads of things to do and see. It reminded me a lot of San Francisco with its landscape, culture and trolly cars. My favorite part had to be the Te Papa National Museum.
